Thyme for New Beginnings

I've been mulling over the idea of blogging for sometime now and decided it was now or never.  I'm going to share my love of herbs and herb gardening through the years.  I've been involved with herbs for over 35 years now......it's hard to believe how thyme flies when you're having fun.

I will be posting some pictures of  herb gardens I have visited or will be visiting and also pictures of my  herb gardens and also of friends gardens. "Herbies" are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  They are always willing to share their knowledge, experiences, and also their plants.   I like the fact that once you take one of their plants home with you and plant it in your own garden  you think of that person whenever you walk past the plant.

I think if I had to pick one word that describes herbs, it would be "versatility".  You can use them for so many purposes...cooking, decorations, medicinal, dying, etc. The list goes on and on.  You are always learning new ways to use and enjoy them.

I try to use this time of year to start planning and rearranging my existing herb gardens for the coming season in my mind and also on paper.  I like to try at least one new herb each year (it usually ends up being more than one though).  I've found that I am finally getting to the point of downsizing and being very selective in what I purchase and plant...due in part that my back and knees have also gotten 35 years older.

Well, I've begun............I hope you will join me and share my love of herbs and everything herbal.
